bye bye, goin' to thai!

first international trip of the year! 2016 has already been off to a great start. got a few trips in mind for this year, & i'm kickin it off with thailand! this'll be my first visit there.

last year one of my best friends esther told me she wants to do a trip for her bday every year, & of course i was 100% on board. this past fall, our friend caitlin mentioned to esther that she's attending a wedding in thailand around esther's birthday... fast-forward 4-5 months, & the 3 of us are heading there together!

snapchat moments from our journey so far

monday morning we flew from denver to san fran with no issues. our flight from san fran to beijing was another story. which is why i constantly remind myself to keep a positive outlook while traveling, especially internationally, because it's likely things won't always go as planned. liiiike, saaaay, an alaskan volcano erupts or something. sound random? when we landed, we found out that's exactly what happened... turning what was supposed to be our 12-hour flight from san fran to beijing into an almost 14-hour flight. which --  you guessed it -- made us miss our next flight from beijing to bangkok. thankfully once we landed, air china was super apologetic for the delay & had already booked the 3 of us a hotel room for the night & booked us on a flight to beijing for the next afternoon. after caitlin & esther were forced to run around the airport trying to find their luggage for about 45 minutes (i only have my carry-on bags.. mainly because i didn't want to be running around an airport in china trying to locate my luggage 😏), we finally hopped on a bus en route to our hotel.

...more snapchat moments...

so we lose the day we would have had in bangkok, but we get to explore beijing for a little bit now! the only time i've spent in china have been short flight connections, so that's a plus for me. & we get to sleep in beds tonight instead of on a plane. see? stayin positive. 👍🏾

traveling with caitlin & esther has already proved to be a great choice. we're pretty much laughing every few minutes, & i can already tell we'll have so many fun silly memories from this adventure. follow along my snapchat to see a bit for yourself ~ my username is adaezenoelle.

aight headin to bed now... this 14-hour time difference will not get the best of me!
